Who is she?

With fifteen years of experience in social work practice and advanced studies toward a Doctor of Social Work degree, executive leadership, research, and clinical practice can be integrated to meet the challenges of society today. Dr. Rani has lived a life of many challenges based on overcoming domestic violence, divorce, and being a single mom. Over the years, I’ve grown to understand that the challenges we are met with are opportunities to advocate for social change. Starting a social work career in 2010 guided a healing process through helping others. Social workers are often asked, “what is your why?” as they enter various fields. When considering my why, I reflect on the notion that I have met some good people along my life journey who advocated for me in times of need. Lived experience can be the best learning method, and nurturing your process as you learn guides a brighter future.

Service Delviery Approach

The basis of the services that I offer centers on the perception of life intersections. Life intersections can be described as people, places, and things that shape an individual’s worldview as they grow and develop throughout life. The Intersectional Life Model was created based on my doctoral academic studies and research. The Intersectional Life Model is a framework that focuses on how experiences with others shape our worldview from the time of conception and birth.  The Intersectional Life Model can be applied to various theoretical modalities that address systemic barriers that can impact marginalized groups of individuals.
